I'm Back! Yes, and no doubt about it, I'm back on Christmas eve. So... I pretty love my trip to Thailand, Bangkok last week with 2 of my bestie. It's all about shopping. The last day, not the day I left, but the last day of shopping was pretty screwed up because a lot of time was wasted going to places that we shouldn't have went. Hmm... We got 'cheated' (by the internet). LOL! And... OMG? I didn't realised that I didn't buy much things for myself till I'm back home. Lots were spent on gifts for family and friends. ROAR! I should totally go back there one day again. Not now definitely -.- But I promise... I'll be back!

Econs assignment... 3 marks to an 'A'! OMG! But the marking wasn't consistent! I could have gotten a mark more. OK... Doesn't seems a lot BUT IT TOTALLY MATTERS A LOT if it's an exam.

IBM assignment submitted too! I bet my lecturer is going to scream at my framework :\

Then it's the make-everyone-kan-jiong-but-marks-not-counted MATHS test. 5 questions but out of those, 4 are gone case. I'm glad that Maths is a half unit... Then I can keep on practicing and grasp and understand the concepts.

Finally... Sociology test coming up too. Weber, Marx and bla bla bla... I'm seeing you EVERYWHERE o.O OMG!

First week of school was fine but I can feel the tense coming up. My notes are getting too thick to be digested. Been revising my work almost everyday and Mum wonders how long my 'persistance' is going to last me. I thought economics was so far so good but not the same for sociology, so much more a killer for me. Doesn't sound promising at all. Small logic, big theory. I need to work harder for this unit :\

Now that someone's gone for his holiday, I'm too BORED to be true. Staying at home wasn't fun at all especially after one week of go-school-early-come-home-late. ROAR!

Aside to those, I'm glad that I went to granny's birthday celebration last night. I can feel her happiness. Happy 74th!

27/04/2011 Day 1

I swear this was the most anticipated journey I've ever had. My first ever journey that I've ever embarked on my own. This was like a dream came true. Not that I've never came here before but it's the first time I'm travelling to this place on my very own, not forgetting, with good friend, Baoling.

Having our foot stepped on this piece of land, the first thing we did was to get the Octopus card, also known as our EZ-Link card. Without it, WE CAN'T GO ANYWHERE unless you are dirty rich and is willing to spend on taxi everywhere you go. So... After getting it, we took the Airport Express from the Airport (obviously) to Kowloon and transferred to the free Airport Express Shuttle Bus to MTR Jordan Station. From there, I think we took about 1/2 hour to find our hotel?

Done with the administrative procedures, settled down and we headed out for a late lunch. I was awed by my first lunch in Hong Kong. For just HKD 22 (approximately SGD 3.50), the portion was big enough to feed 2 mouths. Fulfilling and nice I must said. Too bad I didn't manage to take a picture of it. I was too hungry then. With a very satisfied lunch, the plan was to walk around the area. Somehow, we ended up 1 MTR stops away. Visited the Clock Tower and had a stroll along the Avenue of Stars. The day ended with a spectacular multimedia display, A Symphony of Lights. Pretty!

I almost forgot about my dinner. We had ours at this particular restaurant called misocoollll. The taste, the environment and hygiene were good but the service is *no comments*. I had this bowl of rice, chickens and eggs as toppings. I can't remember what is it called, neither do I have a picture of it but it's something like the Japanese Ome Rice. Nice and the best thing is it cost approximately SGD 8.50. Overall, I can said that it's valued for money.

It was nearly midnight when we reached our hotel. Tired and shag but the first day was indeed a good and enjoyable one.

28/04/2011 Day 2

It's a TRAM day! The best way to experience Hong Kong culture, is to hop on a tram.

For only HKD 2, we hopped onto the tram, locally known as 'Ding Ding' and travelled from Central to Sheung Wan. Walked along Wing Lok Street (commonly known as Ginseng and Birds' Nest Street) and found this shop, Tang Hoi Moon Kee, which is famous for their preserved plums. Baoling got what she wants and we continued with our journey to the Lomography shop. Wanted to get some cheap deals here but realised it's not that cheap after all. We left after a few glance.

The next tram we took has more than a hundred years of operation experience, the Peak Tram. Visited the Madame Tussauds located at the Peak. Over here, you can find celebrity wax figures of Donnie Yen, Aaron Kwok and of course, many more. Not to miss out the fun, both Baoling and I waxed our hands for memory sake. I must say that the paraffin wax was really HOT!

After which, we took a walk along this crescent-shaped stretch of sand, one of the most beautiful beaches in Hong Kong, Repulse Bay. I swear I find this as the longest walk ever. Then we took a hour bus ride back. I think it's around 10 PM when we're back to the hotel.

29/04/2011 Day 3

Reached Lantau Island via a 25 minute cable car ride from Tung Chung Town. On the way, we got to enjoy some of the best views like the vistas of the distand and vast South China Sea and the rolling grassland slopes of North Lautau Country Park. Approaching the Ngong Ping Cable Car Terminal, we've also managed to catch our first glimpses of the mighty Tian Tan Buddha Statue (Giant Buddha). Climbed more than 200 steps to reach the platform where the Buddha is seated. It was really tiring but I guess it's all worth it for the blessings from the Buddha.

The later part of the day was spent at Citygate Outlets where more than 80 international brands offering yearly discount of at least 30% to 70% on designer fashion, sports, beauty, accessories, children’s wear, and home items can be found here.

Nowhere is better than Hong Kong to have a unique shopping experience. From glitzy malls to funky street markets, we can find products and brands in all price ranges.

In just one day, these are the places I've been to...

Apliu Street
Cheung Sha Wan Road Fashion Street
Langham Place Shopping Mall
Argyle Centre
Sportswear Street (Fa Yuen Street)

If you wanna get cheap deals for electrical devices and electronic products, A/V equipment and telecommunications products, Apliu Street is the place to be. If you wanna pick up the latest fashions at wholesale prices, go to Cheung Sha Wan Road Fashion Street. If you are finding a place that caters to shoppers of all ages, Langham Place Shopping Mall might just be the one. If you are looking into places like Far East Plaza, check out the Argyle Centre. If you want to get some sportswear items, brands like Adidas and Nike, visit Fa Yuen Street.

01/05/2011 Day 5

Our fifth day visit was to the Hong Kong Disneyland. The day started as the 'Flights of Fantasy Parade' begins along the Main Street USA. As Mickey's Magical Airship leads the way, Stitch, Jungle Book monkeys, Toy Story Green Army Men and more followed then.

Explored around Tomorrowland and had a cosmic journey with Baoling. Took the Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Stitch Encounter and Autopia. The queue at every stop was really long but they are fun.

Storybook dreams come true at the Fantasyland. Caught the 3-D movie at the Mickey's PhilharMagic where Donald Duck meets the princesses, villains and beloved heroes. Other attractions like the "it's a small world", The Golden Mickeys at Disney's Storybook Theater, Sleeping Beauty Castle are fun too.

There's the Adventureland too but too bad the both of us didn't get to play anything there.

As the clock strikes 8 PM, everyone gathered in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle to get the best view of that spectacular fireworks show, "Disney in the Stars" Fireworks. It feels kind of heart-warming when everyone just showed up together at one spot at the same time to witness the happening of one item.

02/05/2011 Day 6

Visited the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple. If you have a long-standing wish that's yet to come true, perhaps the place to visit is here.

The rest of the day were pretty much spent at revisiting the same shopping places again and searching for a well known bakery store, Koi Kei Bakery, located at Mongkok. Heard that they are famous for their almond cake, egg roll, crunchy peanut candy, and fillet of beef and pork. Bought lots of their wife cake back.

03/05/2011 Day 7

One thing that none of us want to give it a miss is to have dim sum in Hong Kong. Head over to the Federal Restaurant just nearby our hotel. Love their barbecued pork pastry especially. For just HKD 193 (approximately SGD 31), the both of us ordered more than what we can have. I can proudly say that this is the best meal I had ever since I've reached Hong Kong.

After a fulfilling brunch, we set out to Macau via a hour of ferry ride. Seriously, I don't think I will want to come to Macau alone again. Maybe it's just me but I find the locals unfriendly. Ignoring the ugly sides of Macau, I still think that it has great attractions.

Visited the Ruins of St. Paul's. I thought that this architect is kind of interesting and so I searched on the web only to realise that the Ruins of St. Paul's actually refers to the facade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei built in 1602-1640, destroyed by fire in 1835. Nowadays, the facade of the Ruins of St. Paul's functions symbolically as an altar to the city.

04/05/2011 Day 8

It's time to go home! Our flight is at 11:10 AM and that means we would have to reach the airport by 9 AM. Given that we need one hour to travel from our hotel to the airport, the both of us had to wake up at 6+ AM to prepare ourselves and finish packing whatever that's left unpacked.

It was 3 PM by the time we touched down and around 4+ PM when I reached home. I remembered that Singapore was raining heavily that day. Guess she's crying for my return?

So we had my 'farewell' lunch @ SAKURA International Buffet Restaurant ytd :) OK, no more whining if you know what I'm been thinking. The food is GREAT! P.S. Germain... Jealous?

Putting 'farewell' aside, make a guess of what this is? It's what you think it is but it's actually not what you think it is... *Drum rolls* O.o OK... I feel the awkward silence if I make the sound effects in real life. It's actually chocolate but packaged in such a way that it looks like condom. Google it. Typed in delicious chocolate condom and you'll see a few clearer images of them. I was not being naughty... Chuan bought this for Joyce. Happy Birthday Joyce!

What else? I'm bored... Freaking bored! And I feel bloated... Very bloated! All thanks to the breakfast I had this morning... ROAR!

I'm 'graduating'! Many have left since 2009 except for the minority of us. I should have left 2 years ago but I'm still here, today. I didn't regret that I came back and in fact, I'm still thankful to that particular person who brought me in.

In these past two years, I've learnt about the society. How people works with one another and how they play with politics. Not that I personally know of any but I've been hearing a lot of this. I've met new friends along the way whom I'm going to miss very very much, really. I've learnt even more on what the school couldn't have possibly teach me.

I guess it's time to move on. Nobody ever wants to move out of his/her comfort zone, like me, I never wanted to but I'm definitely moving on to my next phase of life.

This is my last month in RP and my official last day of work is on the 31st. My last lap in RP is to finish up my on-hand jobs and handover them nicely to whoever so. Like life, I want my journey in RP to end beautifully *Sounds like I'm dying*.

To those whom I've been working very closely with over the past 1.75 years, be it the staffs or the students (Although I know none is reading)...

I thank you for all the guidances. I've made mistakes along the way and I seek your forgiveness. It's been nice working with all of you. I wish you all the best and may the best be with you. Take care and farewell. If there's ever a day that we meet on the streets, please do say 'Hi' to this quiet lady over here. Thank you once again for making my journey in RP memorable. 2010 didn't end beautifully and 2011 didn't started it well. Before I explain further, yes, I'm back from my Bali trip.

The trip wasn't what I had expected it to be though the checklist were all marked. As in, I did managed to 'tour' the active volcano from FAR but the haze was really strong too. Also, I've visited A LOT of temples and I got to take a small walk along the beach under the SUPER HEAVY RAIN. There are no villagers, just normal civilians like you and me. I got to play JUST ONE water sport. Most importantly, shopping. Batik stuffs are not in my list so ya, I did shopped but it was plain window shopping.

Back to Singapore on the 31st Dec 2010. Wasn't feeling very well but I managed to watch the countdown party on TV. It was worse on the 1st of Jan 2011. See! 2010 didn't end beautifully and 2011 didn't started it well. I'm still on MC today. Shit! I've been missing from work for one whole week. Bet there must be a lot of work for me to clear and rush :(

Did I mentioned that I'm involved in a camp last week? Been planning for this camp for at least a month. Getting students to sign up, catering of food, hiring of bus and other logistic helps which may/might be required. I'm glad that the camp is over now as more work comes in. On hand, I still have DARE and NPC to follow up. AEM and EEP is almost done. SUI! is no longer my business :) Though I still have some 'leftovers' to handover. What else? Life has been pretty good so far, just that I'M BROKE! Oh! & I just remembered something! TAN GEK PENG & QUAH BAOLING! It was suppose to be just a simple lunch meet-up session but Jarvis being very SWEET (Yes, I think I just used the word "SWEET") suggested that he should get his mum a Mother's Day pressie :) As expected, SK is as punctual as ever, I'll be slightly late and VIS is as late as ever... But whatever, I've earned myself a free bottle of Ice Lemon Tea :)

Lunch at BAIKOKEN... Finally had a taste of how the ramen taste like... After tenths, hundreds, thousands, millions, billions, zillions... Of how the both of them praised how nice the ramen is. According to them, they find ramens sold at other places is incomparable to the one at BAIKOKEN... So people, if you wanna taste it... Here's the address:

Celebrated Mother's Day @ grandparent's house. Dinner was great! The younger generation will hide in the room for various gadgets after dinner and the older generation will either be playing poker cards or sitting somewhere stoning or... Simply just watching the TV. Me? I'll be walking around the house like some inspector... Snatching my cousins gadgets once in a while, stoning somewhere at times, and when there's really nothing else I can do... TV!!!

This Mother's Day was nothing much... Pretty much because my brother had to book in, otherwise, we'll be having our dinner somewhere else like we always had. But still, I believe everyone treasures every moment we had together :)

Friday's night was awesome to the max! It's a night full of songs and dance. Green Life Concert, a concert to raise fund for the school's running track. Well... How can band give it a miss? 'Right Here Waiting' & 'Heal the World' were a BLAST!

It has been 4 freaking years since I hold up my clarinet... Needless to say, my skills are rusty! Nevertheless, the feeling was still there. Looking at Mr Tay's gesture, at least I still know when to hold up / put down my instrument. I miss those days!

Speaking of which, it was 2002, still a small Sec. 1 kid when I joined the main band. I'm still thinking why didn't I joined RP band ar?

I'm now looking forward for the concert in June! Northbrooks' 10th Anniversary!

All the way back to last week, Wednesday was a super tiring day. 27 mystery gifts to wrap and 27 lucky draws to prepare, plus bla bla bla... I left the school at 7+ PM that day but I didn't finished my work. Brought them back home ):

Thursday!!! Project Genero-CIE-ty. You must be wondering about the mystery gifts and lucky draws already? Well, it's a project organised by my department to help raise funds for RP Needy Student Fund. What I had to do was to picked certain items out from SUI! Shop (The shop that I'm running now in school), wrap them, prepare the lucky draw for lucky dip and etc. Students/Staffs would have to pay $10/$20 for a try. All proceeds goes to the fund. The whole event lasted for 2 days.

Friday, as usual, had to prepare for Project Genero-CIE-ty. It's a super shaggy day. After dealing with the setup, had to mend SUI! Shop, then, I had to run to Bras Basah Complex to collect my tags (Will talk more about it later on), rush back to school, meeting, and lastly, ensuring that Causeway Point had everything prepared for event over the weekend. Only managed to leave around 11+ PM.

SATURDAY, the moment we had all been waiting for, the event that had been draining almost all of us out, National Pushcart Challenge 2009. What I had to do before the event starts is to make sure that all logistic and/or admin items are well-prepared, as well as, making sure that all pushcarts are in proper conditions. Oh! The tags that I just mentioned were for the pushcarts too. When the event starts, me and my team had to make sure that all were run smoothly. Reached CWP as early as 7.30 AM and reached home at about 10+ PM that day. SHAG!!!

Sunday. Continue-ing with the competition. Congrats to the winning teams :) Let's skip all the process and jump to the end of the day. Had to make sure that we don't leave any belongings at CWP and make sure that no one leaves anything in the pushcarts as well. Had to accompany the movers back to RP to keep everything safely. When everything was finally done, it's already 10+ PM. Home Sweet Home :)

All I wanted to say is... Although it's really very tiring, but I guess everyone had fun among the busy period? In case you didn't, at least I did :)

With the ending of the Ultimate Sports Sales, while everyone was just thinking that it's going to be a break, here comes the start of Causeway Point Pushcart Sales.

Pre-event preparation itself has almost drained us all dried up. Working till 10+ PM aren't kidding matter. Luckily enough, I've two good friends who are there with me (: & of course, when we get really tired, we've got to find amusement for ourselves. Well, sorry Daddy Vic...

I started my work at 8 AM and ended my work at 10 PM almost everyday. Now, I seriously have to tell everyone that being a student is sooo much carefree. Arggg!!!

After the event, I still have stocks to check, SUI! accounts to be done, what's next? Just as I thought when it's real time that I can catch a little breathe, what's chasing right behind on the list is EEP.

And for now, I have to clear the stocks in SUI! Shop, recount EVERYTHING including those in the storeroom. Return what is to be returned and keep is to be kept.
