it became associated with romantic love in the High Middle Ages

when the tradition of courtly love flourished

this is also a special day for family and friends

gifts like chocolate, flowers and greating cards are given out

family and friends gathered together to enjoy this special day

of course, not forgetting the singles enjoying up to their most too
